Critical analysis essays
Critical analysis essays seek to establish the writer’s ability to analyze a piece of literature. In some cases, it may include a cinematograph, paintings, movies, articles or books. The writer analyzes the piece of literature from a neutral perspective, looking at both the negative and positive sides of the piece.
The essay always starts with an introduction which should be a captivating paragraph that gets the reader from the writer’s perspective. It also outlines the main ideas to be discussed in the body of the essay. A thesis statement follows the introduction.
The body gives a detailed view of the main points introduced in the introduction and supports them with examples, evidence, and quotes (where applicable). Each argument should be divided into a topic sentence, supporting sentence and a concluding sentence. The final part is the conclusion where the writer restates his or her point of view and a final strong argument to support it.
