2. From the DASHBOARD in Loud Cloud, explain the steps to find your grades and instructor feedback.
3. Under the DASHBOARD tab in LoudCloud, click on the STUDENT RESOURCES link and locate the STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER. Search for RESOURCES and locate THE WRITING CENTER. From there click on STYLE GUIDE AND TEMPLATES and locate GCU Style Guide and Template documents. (Right click and save these to your computer for future reference). Once you have read the Style Guide, why do you think academic writing requires such strict formatting?
I think academic writing requires such strict formatting for structure and to prevent plagiarism. To help provide clarity and to help the reader understand the content better. To also help get us ready for our careers.
4. Inside the Student Success Center, type “Tutorials & Webinars” in the search bar. List three tutorials or webinars that will help you most as you begin this course. For each, explain how you feel they will help.
One of the tutorials that would be best to start with would be “Getting started with Grand Canyon University” in that tutorial you can find how to set up your student account. How to access your student portal. How to access your courses and getting to know your resources. Another one would be the tutorial for “Time management”. Time management is a very important part of any classroom because you need to be able to manage your time while doing online school. Especially if you are working or you have children. You alone are accountable for your goals and if you cannot manage your time, then you’re not going to be able to complete your achievements. Another great tutorial that would be beneficial when starting this course would be “Effective notetaking.” In all courses you have to do a lot of reading to be able to understand what you’re reading and to be able to remember it at a later date, it is helpful to be able to take notes properly. In this tutorial it teaches you many ways of effective notetaking.
5. From the Course Home page in Loud Cloud, click on the DASHBOARD tab and then click on CONNECT link and then FORUMS. Locate (at the top of the page) and explain the purpose of the Discussion Question Forum, Private Forum, and Questions to Instructor Forum.
Under the forum tab you can find three different forums. Each forum is used for a different purpose. The discussion question forum is for public discussion, that is where you are going to be posting the response to the weekly DQ questions. It is also the forum where you are going to do your participation posts, you need to do 8 participation posts a week. The next form would be the private forum. In the private form you can post questions to your instructor that you would not want other classmates to read. For instance, you need to tell your instructor that you have a family emergency and you are not going to be able to turn your assignment in on time. That is something that normally you would not want others to read so that will be posted in this private forum, between you and your instructor. The next forum is the Questions to instructor forum. In this forum you can post any questions to your instructor that you don’t mind being read publicly. Also it is helpful to post your questions in this forum because other classmates can see them and respond to them. They could have answers for you before your instructor is able to respond. It also allows other classmates to be able to see your questions, they might have the same question as well and it allows them to be able to see the response from the instructor without having to post the question themselves. In this form you can also respond to other classmates however, you will not get participation points for this response.
6. Click on the DASHBOARD tab in the Loud Cloud classroom and select PATH. List the three headings across the top of the page and list their content.
Under the path tab you can find 3 headings at the top of the page. The three headings would be path, content and objectives. Under path tab you will find all the topics and the electronic material for the topics. The syllabus can be found under this tab. Also available is your start date for the class and your projected end date for the class. The instructor’s email and the details for the course. Under the Content tab you can find all the electronic resources for the course that are available. As you go through the weeks you will tap into those electronic resources. You can go ahead and read them if you would like. In this course alone there are 106 electronic resources available to a student. Another tab would be Objectives. In this tab you would find the objectives for completing the course however, for this course there are zero objectives because this course just pertains to knowledge, getting to know the GCU database and the LoudCloud classroom. Helping to strengthen our skills for our undergraduate years to come

Week 2 Assignment
Reflection: GCU Code of Conduct
Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the GCU Style Guide, using the attached GCU Style template .
Reflect on the topic of GCU Code of Conduct and Academic Standards, in 250?500 words address the following prompts in four paragraphs:
Review the Code of Conduct and Academic Standards in the university policy handbook. Go to https://www.gcu.edu/academics/academic-policies.php#h-university-policy-handbook and click on the University Policy Handbook link. Find the Code of Conduct and Academic Standards section. In your own words, explain 2 academic integrity violations and 2 code of conduct violations. Give a specific example of what the 4 identified violations could be.
ANSWER
2 CODE OF CONDUCT VIOLATIONS:
-Falsification of documents or forgery: This violation is committed when someone decides to provide untrue information about themselves or signs documents that is not supposed to be signed by them, using another person’s signature. Not only is this illegal in this campus or in other universities, it is also punishable by law. A specific example of this would be when a student is copying their parents’ signature and signing documents for school that is supposed to be signed by their parents, or when they lie about personal information that they give to the university registrar.
-Drugs or alcohol possession inside the University property or as part of a University activity: We, as students, should always be in a stable mental state to keep up with our university activities so to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol does not only disrespect the university or the faculty, but we might also cause inconvenience to others who peacefully attend university. Alcohol and drugs can make a person cause trouble, so it’s not supposed to be consumed in a formal place such as a school or university. The university has a responsibility to take care of each student under their premises, but it is also a student’s responsibility to take care of themselves while being on campus and not doing anything to smear the university’s name. An example of this is when you bring alcohol disguised as bottles of other liquids that are allowed and consume it during classes, or when you deal illegal drugs inside the campus or any campus-related activities.
2 ACADEMIC INTEGRITY VIOLATIONS:
-Cheating: Of course, this is self-explanatory. No school or university allows cheating. It is reaping out of others’ hard-earned knowledge and an extreme display of dishonesty which goes against morals. Cheating can lead to expulsion, depending on the specification of the penalties of a university guidelines. An example of this would be when you cheat in an exam and copy a friend’s answers. You and your friend should be held responsible if it was a mutual thing, and if it is only by you, you can get suspended. Another example is if you have cheat sheets written on your palms or in another paper during exams or somebody being a proxy to you in exams.
-Plagiarizing: This is kind of a huge thing in universities. There are many cases of plagiarizing especially when students submit papers. It is wrong to plagiarize because you are stealing somebody’s intellectual property. It is not only illegal in universities, but also illegal in the country. One can be sued for plagiarizing. An example of this is when a student submits a paper that is exactly the same or much likely the same as another student’s paper. An investigation might be done to find out who plagiarized who.
